Teachers support children in play by observing how individual children use interesting materials in many novel & unexpected ways. Children guide their individual learning through navigating different learning centers & choices for creative exploration.
Teachers at Little Blue take turns with children leading & following. During Music & Movement, children pick many of the songs & activiites, leading the class & the teacher in movements, child created song lyrics & different ways to play instruments.
One of the Little Blue Preschool's highest priorities since its inception over 18yrs. ago, has been facilitating healthy communication skills in young children. Everyday the teachers at Little Blue support negotiation, problem solving & conflict resolution. Young children learn to successfully communicate their needs in developmentally appropriate ways.
Forming strong emotionally supportive bonds with children is one of the foundations of the High Scope Curriculum used at our school. Our teachers seek to develop authentic relationships with each and every child in their care. Understanding temperment, development, intersts and learning styles for each child fosters the ability to offer the best pathways to learning key developmental experiences for high quality early childhood education.
